The bad news is that Will Trent won’t return with season 3 until early 2025, but the good news is that one exciting actress is joining the main cast, subduing the persisting annoyance surrounding the wait. The ABC police procedural crime drama, created by Karin Slaughter, Liz Heldens, and Daniel T. Thomsen, is based on Slaughter’s Will Trent book series and its characters. However, while most of the figures in the crime drama can also be found in the novels, one new character in Will Trent season 3 is entirely original to the TV show.
