Wicked reintroduced the world of Oz to audiences, and became a major hit at the box office. The Wicked movie is based on the critically acclaimed Broadway musical of the same name, as well as the 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. The story of Wicked follows the unlikely friendship between Elphaba, who later becomes known as the Wicked Witch of the West, and Galinda, who will become Glinda the Good Witch.
