Why A Wasted Phase 1 Villain Is So Important For Iron Man’s Final MCU Story

An MCU Phase 1 villain who has been rumored to be returning may be very important to the storyline of Marvel Studios' upcoming Armor Wars adaptation. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige originally announced Armor Wars as a series for Disney+ back in December 2020, with Don Cheadle reprising his role of James "Rhodey" Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, in the aftermath of Tony Stark's sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. While Yassir Lester was hired as head writer for the series, production on Marvel Studios' Armor Wars saw major delays before being revealed to be reworked into a feature film in September 2022.
