Why 2-Season Cancelled HBO Series Is A “Timeless Classic” With Julius Caesar Events Explained By Roman Expert

A classic historian has nothing but praise for HBO’s Rome. Having run from 2005 to 2007 before its season 2 cancelation, the show featured a live-action depiction of Julius Caesar’s rise to power in the dying days of the Roman Republic. Alongside Ciarn Hinds’s Caesar were the two leads, Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) and Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson), who played two soldiers in Caesar’s chief legion. After the similar historical show, Those About To Die, was released in 2024, memories of HBO’s hit have earned additional recognition.
