Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan has expanded his Western TV show horizons with his new series, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, which is unsurprisingly filmed in the very heart of the southern United States. Lawmen: Bass Reeves is a Western historical drama that follows the real-life man, Bass Reeves. Reeves was one of the first black deputy U.S. Marshals and was the very first to the west of the Mississippi River. The series depicts the life of Reeves, played by David Oyelowo, alongside his wife, daughter, the local Cherokee tribe, and the deputy U.S. Marshal Sherill Lynn, played by Dennis Quaid.
