John Wick: Chapter 4 concludes with John's death, but if he had lived, it would set up a very different version of John Wick: Chapter 5. In John Wick: Chapter 4, John (Keanu Reeves) is at war with the High Table, and finds himself battling his old friend Caine (Donnie Yen), who is forced to hunt John when his daughter's life is threatened by the High Table official, the Marquis de Gramont (Bill Skarsgård). In a bid to win his freedom from the High Table for good, John enters into an agreement for an official duel with the Marquis, only for Caine to be chosen as his opponent in John Wick: Chapter 4's ending.
