Batman: The Animated Series is not part of the same continuity as the Tim Burton Batman movies, yet it felt more like a Batman Returns sequel than Batman Forever did. In 1990, some of the artists who had worked on the hit Tiny Toons show for Warner Bros. Animation were brought in to develop a Batman animated series spinning off of the success of Batman (1989). Batman: TAS was not an actual sequel to Batman or Batman Returns, but this instant classic Batman show created by names like Bruce Timm, Eric Radomski, Paul Dini, and Mitch Brian would not have existed without the Burton movies.
