A reboot of the gritty crime classic Scarface has been in development for more than a decade, but the latest update regarding the film's director should be the final nail in the coffin to prevent the troubled remake from happening. The reboot would actually be the third movie adapted from Armitage Trail's original 1929 novel Scarface, which was heavily influenced by the activities of real-life gangster Al Capone. It was first adapted in 1932 and starred legendary actor Paul Muni, and then of course in 1983 by writer Oliver Stone and director Brian De Palma, starring Al Pacino as the iconic Tony Montana.
