The Beast is a terrifying villain in The Sandlot, but the process of bringing him to life behind-the-scenes is somehow even worse. One of the most popular summer coming-of-age movies, The Sandlot follows new kid Scotty Smalls, who overcomes his lack of baseball knowledge to befriend a group of boys who play at the local sandlot. In an effort to get in the boys’ good graces, Smalls swipes his old man’s autographed baseball, which gets lost over the sandlot’s fence after a poorly-timed homerun.
