2024’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes moved the Planet of the Apes franchise forward both in time and in world-building, and given Kingdom‘s reception and box office return, the plot for the series’ next movie should be obvious. Set 300 years after War for the Planet of the Apes in the overall Planet of the Apes franchise timeline, Kingdom introduced a new set of characters along with a new setting, the eponymous seaside kingdom. The story revolves around two key characters: Noa, a young ape from a peaceful clan, and Mae, a mysterious yet intelligent young woman.
