While The Mindy Project wraps up the story of Mindy Lahiri's (Mindy Kaling) professional accomplishments and long-term romance with Danny Castellano (Chris Messina), the 2010s sitcom doesn't explain what happens to Anna Camp's character, Gwen Grandy. Appearing only in season 1, Gwen was Mindy's best friend, and the two both began living in New York City when neither one was in a relationship. Gwen was also the wife of Carl (Tim Conlon) and the mother of Riley (Avriella Ford). Although she wasn't given much screen time, Gwen and Mindy had been close since they attended Princeton, and she seemed to be a positive person.
