Kingsman franchise director Matthew Vaughn has provided an update for The King’s Man 2, revealing early story details for a direct follow-up to his 2021 prequel. Featuring an ensemble cast led by Ralph Fiennes, The King’s Man served to explain the WWI-era origins of the Kingsman secret intelligence service first introduced in Vaughn’s 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. While Vaughn’s prequel ended with the formation of the Kingsman agency and the conclusion of World War I, The King's Man's mid-credits scene featured Daniel Brühl’s villainous Erik Jan Hanussen introducing Russian revolutionary figure Vladimir Lenin to a young Adolf Hitler.
