If The Conners season 6 can utilize one story trick successfully, the Roseanne spinoff could potentially fix all of its storytelling issues in one fell swoop when the show finally returns to the air. Even by the uncertain standards of network sitcoms, The Conners has not had an easy existence. The show only came into being after Roseanne’s successful 2017 revival was canceled because of series star Roseanne Barr’s offensive tweets. After Barr was fired from the show, it was unclear how the Roseanne revival could possibly continue without the character of Roseanne at its center. The Conners came up with an inventive answer.
