While The Conners season 5 finale was a solid ending to the spinoff’s latest outing, the episode's take on David Healy ruined the Roseanne character’s best episode. Although Roseanne’s central family was nothing if not dysfunctional, the Conners always loved and cared for each other. Even when they were at each other’s throats, the blue-collar heroes of the classic ‘90s sitcom clearly had great affection for one another. The one time Roseanne hit her young son, DJ, after he took her car for a joyride, she immediately apologized and tearfully explained that she never wanted to be like her abusive father.
