The Collector horror franchise is soon set to continue in The Collected, with filmmaking duo Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton back at the helm. The original film debuted in 2009 and followed a low-level thief who, upon breaking into a house looking for loot, finds himself face-to-face with a sadistic slasher, The Collector. The Collector’s identity is unknown, but his needs are simple, to murder, torture, and “collect” victims to store on display in his lair, an abandoned hotel. With its simple premise and return to classic slasher sensibilities, The Collector earned praise from fans, even if critics were apathetic.
