It’s no secret that the creator of The Boys, Garth Ennis, is not a fan of classic superhero stories. Ennis usually portrays heroes as corrupt maniacs in need of a slap, and he always has a character (or characters) in his stories that do just that. The Boys is a prime example, and in one particular issue, Ennis decides that taking shots at superheroes through plot alone isn’t enough. He wanted to take a shot at the man himself: Stan Lee – and he used a clever cameo to do it.
