George Lucas cut one Order 66 scene from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith because it was too savage. Palpatine envisioned the Clone Wars as the ultimate Jedi trap, and Order 66 was the moment the jaws of the trap slammed shut. Only a handful of Jedi survived, and two of them – Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda – soon found themselves sneaking through the Jedi Temple, looking in horror as they realized even Younglings had been slaughtered. The scenes set in the Jedi Temple were chilling, but the most disturbing moment was when Obi-Wan reviewed security footage and learned his worst fears had been realized; he saw a brutal hologram showing Anakin Skywalker cutting a bloody swathe through the Jedi Masters at the temple.
