Based on the 1959 sci-fi novel of the same name, 1997s Starship Troopers largely failed to resonate with critics at the time of its original release, with many misinterpreting the movies anti-fascist satire. However, in the years that followed, it would not only come to develop a cult following, but would also spawn two low-budget sequels, animated movies and television series, and multiple video game tie-ins.
