Stargate’s Canceled Spinoff Could Have Made SG-1’s Ending Better

An unproduced TV movie would have been a stronger ending for Stargate SG-1's team. Stargate SG-1 is by now arguably even more popular than the 1994 blockbuster that inspired it. Not only did it run for ten seasons, it also spawned several other shows, including Stargate: Atlantis – which introduced Jason Momoa's Ronon Dex – and the short-lived Universe. Considering how robust the Stargate TV saga once was, this makes the fact it has been trapped in limbo for over a decade all the stranger. While there are occasional reports of a possible revival of the brand, Stargate is currently no nearer to returning to the big or small screen.
