WARNING: This article contains SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.Spider-Man: The Animated Series’ Peter Parker was missing from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and this popular Spider-Man version might be the key to saving the multiverse in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. In terms of animated Spider-Man properties, Spider-Man: The Animated Series is as important to the character’s legacy as, for example, the Raimi Spider-Man movies are to the live-action franchise. As such, just like Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man: No Way Home was a huge event, “Spider-Man 1994” in Beyond the Spider-Verse would be very significant.
