In The Vampire Diaries, Damon Salvatore makes it immediately clear how chaotic and unpredictable he is, quickly presenting his many flaws in the series. At the time, he was driven largely by his obsession with Elenas doppelgnger, Katherine Pierce. Interestingly, the way he treats the other characters is dramatically different from the friendships and relationships he forms later in the series. Ultimately, his irredeemable qualities are one of the harsh realities of rewatching The Vampire Diaries.
