The unrealized Field of Dreams television adaptation had a seriously impressive cast, as revealed by creator Mike Schur. It was announced in August 2021 that the seminal 1989 baseball film Field of Dreams, written and directed by Phil Alden Robinson, with Kevin Costner starring, was being remade into a television show for Peacock. Schur, creator of The Good Place and co-creator of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation, was attached to write and executive the project. But by June of the following year, Field of Dreams was scrapped.
