Saweetie Serves ‘Main Character Energy’ in True Religion Spring Campaign: Shop the Collection

True Religion is getting into women’s fashion and they chose none other than Grammy-nominated rapper Saweetie to spotlight their spring ’24 campaign. Based on the looks the “Best Friend” rapper shows off, it’s clear this season will have you embracing denim dresses, baggy jeans and graphic T-shirts (including the timeless band tee look).

The partnership marks the clothing brand’s first women-focused campaign, which officially dropped on Thursday (Feb. 8) and features styles up to 30% off. True Religion was encouraged to pursue a women’s-focused campaign after seeing a major jump in sales in 2023 — to the tune of more than $21 million, according to a press release.

Saweetie grew up sporting the brand, making it a no-brainer to join forces.

“True Religion has always been that girl,” Saweetie said in an official press statement. “This new line stays authentic to the True Religion I grew up wearing but also has some bold and unexpected pieces.”

For the clothing brand, the “Shot O’Clock” rapper exudes the type of “main character energy” they encourage their shoppers to embrace.

“We very much believe that style is not just about what you wear; it’s a destination where confidence meets individuality,” said Kristen D’Arcy True Religion’s chief marketing officer. “Saweetie is the very embodiment of this main character energy, which comes across throughout every campaign asset for Spring. ’Go There’ evokes the idea of adventure and travel and serves as a call to our customers to take their style to a more extreme, rebellious, and unexpected level.”
