The Saw franchise will continue to expand with Saw XI, and if it follows the style of the previous movie, it will be the perfect chance to bring back the franchise’s original protagonist. In 2003, James Wan and Leigh Whannell made a short film (now known as Saw 0.5) which served to pitch the concept of what would become one of the most popular franchises in the horror genre. The saga kicked off in 2004 with Saw, which introduced the audience to John “Jigsaw” Kramer (Tobin Bell), a serial killer who trapped his victims in elaborate life-threatening situations to “test” their will to survive.
