Wildflower, now out on digital platforms, is first and foremost a celebration of family in all its forms. Director Matt Smuckler was first inspired to craft a documentary based on his niece's experiences with her parents, and that project has since expanded into his fiction feature film debut. Lead character Bea was born to intellectually disabled parents who insisted on living independently and on their own terms, raising their child with plenty of love but accidentally leaving her to wonder what her role is in the household as well as what her future opportunities are.
