"We Are Groot": GotG’s Most Beloved MCU Quote Gets R-Rated New Meaning

Warning: contains spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy #1!The most heartwarming quote from the hit film Guardians of the Galaxy just got a new meaning that's incredibly scary. When James Gunn's take on the cosmic heroes hit theaters back in 2014, audiences immediately fell in love with its characters. But the standout hero was Groot – a walking, talking tree only capable of saying "I am Groot." When the end of the film rolled around though, he made a heroic sacrifice, telling his newfound family before his death "We are Groot." It's a quote that has stood out as one of the MCU's best and most heartwarming… but now the comics have given it dark new meaning.
