Star Wars has officially confirmed how Rey managed to beat Palpatine in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Though Palpatine’s resurrection was a surprisingly outlandish twist in The Rise of Skywalker, it did allow for the ultimate Jedi vs. Sith showdown. Rey embraced the history of the Jedi in defiance of what she was destined to become and managed to defeat the Sith and their most enigmatic leader once and for all (hopefully). Hearing the voices of multiple beloved Jedi during The Rise of Skywalker’s climactic scene made for an emotional moment, as the voices of Anakin and Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Kanan Jarrus and more helped give Rey the strength to stand up to Palpatine.
