Apple TV+’s brainy conspiracy series Prime Target is a smart, albeit predictable, update on a familiar formula. When watching the show, it’s hard not to think of stories about other brilliant mathematicians in films like A Beautiful Mind, The Imitation Game, and even The Accountant. These prolific protagonists also get caught up in the “impure” realities and hardships of work-life balance, government interests, and corporate greed. Like Leo Woodall’s Edward Brooks, they also find refuge in the purity of their genius, leaving the rest of the world to wait and see what they’ll come up with next.
