Warning: This article contains spoilers for Paint.Even though he's known for playing laid-back characters, Owen Wilson's new movie Paint is an insult to Bob Ross, the soothing host of broadcasts on public access television in which he calmly instructed viewers how to paint at home. Wilson plays Carl Nargle, a Bob Ross-esque painter who has been hosting his own show since the mid-'90s (Ross's own show ended in 1995) and is having trouble accepting that his method of instruction is dying out. Through a series of personal and professional setbacks, he must recapture his reason for living, and the purpose of spreading joy through communal artistic endeavors.
