As the studio's Classic Monsters library is undergoing a variety of new takes, Neil Burger reflects on his scrapped Bride of Frankenstein remake. The 1935 original movie acted as a sequel to Universal's horror classic, loosely based on a subplot in Mary Shelley's novel as both Henry Frankenstein and his monster are revealed to have survived, and the former is blackmailed into his old ways by his old mentor to create a mate for the latter. Just as acclaimed as its predecessor, if not better, multiple attempts to remake Bride of Frankenstein have been attempted throughout the years.
