One Piece Show’s Biggest Changes From The Manga Explained By EP

One Piece executive producer Steven Maeda explains the live-action show's biggest changes from the manga. Developed by Maeda and Matt Owens, the series is an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's ongoing manga series which follows the seafaring adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates and their captain, Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), who hopes to become King of the Pirates by discovering the titular treasure. One Piece, which premiered August 31 on Netflix, has received positive reactions for its faithfulness to the source material, though it does make some minor changes to the manga.
