In a film like Missing, which is told entirely through phone screens and webcams, editing is king. A spiritual successor to 2018's breakout hit Searching, Missing tells a brand-new story and uses even more apps than its predecessor. After all, the protagonist this time around is a tech-savvy teenage girl who knows her way around a smartphone. In order to keep track of all the tabs she's opened in search of her mother, the film's editors had to sketch out the entire film before the directors even shot a single frame.
