Miami Vice Reboot Potential Addressed By Original Sonny Star Don Johnson

A potential Miami Vice reboot has been addressed by the series’ original Sonny star Don Johnson, who reveals whether the ’80s crime drama could ever be remade. The original show follows Johnson’s Detective Sonny Crockett alongside Phillip Michael Thomas’ Detective Ricardo Tubbs as they work undercover missions for the Metro-Dade Police Department in Miami. The series is best known for embracing a New Wave influence, making it one of the greatest procedurals ever made. Since then, however, the series has not been remade, save for a 2006 movie of the same name starring Collin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.
