The Matrix is one of the most popular and widely beloved sci-fi properties of all time, but even the most dedicated of fans can admit that it has its fair share of plot holes. As the sequels continued to expand this universe from the rich, self-contained narrative of the Wachowskis’ original film, the inconsistencies more and more evident. While none of these plot holes actually ruin The Matrix, there’s no denying that they’re hard to overcome.
