Mary Elizabeth Winstead played the character of Huntress in the DCEUs Birds of Prey movie, but despite the films stylish flair and subversive storytelling, audiences were ultimately left wanting a lot more from the character. The film was met with a fairly divisive critical reception: while some critics praised the film for breaking free from the conventions of the superhero genre, the majority agreed that it was too messy, uneven, and uninteresting to really leave an impression. Although Birds of Prey works great as a team-up movie, the project failed to make waves.
