Status effects can be a major nuisance in Marvel Rivals. While most deal little to no damage, they leave your character uncontrollable and open to follow-up attacks. It is important to know what your enemy is capable of and how to avoid or counteract such abilities. In mirror matches, it can be extremely handy to use your own status effects first to stop the enemy in their tracks. However, it can also be important to not needlessly use a negative effect and save it for a big push or defense.
