Vibranium was originally supposed to be introduced during Iron Man 2, but its origins were changed for future MCU projects, helping to secure a brighter future for the coveted resource. Vibranium has been an important plot point in the MCU since Captain America: The First Avenger, which revealed that Captain America's shield was made from the only vibranium that the US Government could get their hands on, but it wasn't until Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther where its significance was truly explored. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever proved vibranium is still crucial to the MCU, but its origin was almost very different in the early days of the MCU.
