Lily Rose reveals her favorite Atlanta slang at Billboard’s Country Live event.
Lily Rose:
What’s up, y’all? I’m Lily Rose, and here is some of my favorite slang that you would hear if you were in Atlanta, Ga.
You know, one of the things if you’re ever in Atlanta that you’re going to hear a ton is just “How about them dogs?” Or “How about this?” “How about that?” When you’re just kind of talking about rooting somebody on.
The southern one that I always grew up with that I said the other day and my wife didn’t even know what I was talking about was “Devil’s beaten his wife with a frying pan,” when it’s raining, but the sun’s out so that’s always what I think of.
It is a Atlanta thing, but it all started with The Andy Griffith Show, but OutKast made this huge thing that when you’re trying to get your friend’s attention, in Atlanta, everyone knows it: “Hootie hoo” is like the “Hey, come on, let’s go.”
