Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland) and Ariana’s (Paulina Chávez) relationship in Landman was always going to happen, but it should have waited until season 2 to start. Cooper and Ariana have been growing closer since her husband, Elvio Medina (Alejandro Akara) died along with several other characters in Landman in the oil rig blowout. Initially, Ariana liked Cooper because he made her laugh for the first time since Elvio’s death, and Cooper began helping her around the house with mowing and figuring out her finances. By the end of Landman episode 7, however, it had grown much deeper.
