While Jurassic World 4 has the potential to be a huge summer blockbuster, the reboot appears to have a pretty massive problem mere weeks after it was initially announced. The Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise has historically been a lucrative IP. 1993’s original Jurassic Park and all three of the Jurassic World movies earned over a billion apiece at the box office, which is doubly impressive considering the abominable reviews received by 2022’s disappointing Jurassic World: Dominion. As such, it is not surprising that Universal announced Jurassic World 4, a new reboot of the franchise, in late January 2024.
