Star Wars: Skeleton Crew gave us an exciting new Star Wars villain – Jude Law’s not-quite-a-Jedi pirate – but his rather tragic origin reminds me of one other (former) Star Wars villain’s dark backstory. Though Skeleton Crew was, for the most part, an Amblin show that happened to be set in the Star Wars universe, it still made great use of Star Wars’ expansive and intricate lore. This includes making the kids and the audience guess, for eight whole episodes, whether Jude Law’s character, Jod Na Nawood, was or wasn’t an actual Jedi.
