Jackass has become increasingly welcomed by critics with each consecutive release, but Jackass 5 could be a step too far. The Jackass franchise, which follows a group of friends intentionally putting themselves in danger, has become a huge phenomenon that spans a whole MTV series, four movies, several bonus outtake movies, and the spinoff Bad Grandpa. The Jackass movies have grossed over $570 million in total (via The Numbers). When a franchise makes that much money with such low budgets, it only makes sense to continue the series.
