Out of all the diabolical villains across 25 James Bond movies, Skyfall’s Raoul Silva is the only one whose plan actually succeeded and wasn’t foiled by 007. The Bond movies tend to follow a pretty formulaic episodic structure. 007 is called in by M to receive his mission, he gets sent around the world to track down a megalomaniacal villain with a scheme to take over the world, and he ends up defeating the villain and putting a stop to their scheme. Almost every Bond movie follows that template to a predictable ending.
