Fargo premiered on FX in 2014, and even though all five seasons have been critically acclaimed, the show sadly hasn’t experienced much success in one category (until the curse was broken in 2024). The black-comedy crime drama, created by Noah Hawley, is based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 film of the same name. Fargo (the movie) won several awards, including two Oscars, one for Best Actress (for Frances McDormand) and the other for Best Original Screenplay. The series has also won many prestigious awards, but after its triumphant first season, Fargo entered a drought at one major awards show.
