Death is a core part of any superhero series, from the shortest individual movies to the most sprawling labyrinthian franchises. Handling this matter is always a bit of a complicated affair, as stories need to balance having deaths to add weight and pathos to keep things engaging, while also ensuring any death fakeouts – which are very common in the superhero genre especially – don’t ruin the viewers’ immersion or sense of the stakes.
