It’s wild that Venom‘s movie franchise was so successful that it outperformed the rest of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe by more than five times the total global box office. The first installment of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, Venom, earned promising results upon its release in 2018 after debuting one of the most popular characters associated with Spider-Man. Unfortunately, this initial success would fail to bear much fruit as subsequent installments of Sony’s Spider-Man franchise failed to inspire half as much enthusiasm from fans as it introduced even more minor characters like Morbius and Madame Web.
