The creator of Minecraft has confirmed plans to start working on a “spiritual successor” to the hit open-world title, after polling fans for their preference. Markus Persson, also known as Notch, created Minecraft in 2009 as a solo developer. The title exploded in popularity, becoming a household name nearly overnight. In 2014, Notch sold the rights to Microsoft for an incredible $2.5 billion.
