Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story explores the lives of beloved Bridgerton characters, with their ages adjusted in the earlier timeline. Shonda Rhimes has expanded the Bridgerton universe beyond Julia Quinn’s novels by creating the prequel focused on the Bridgerton Queen. Queen Charlotte follows the start of Charlotte and King George’s marriage and reign together and switches between this period and the Bridgerton timeline, just after season 2. King George has had a very minor role up until Queen Charlotte so the Netflix prequel has finally been able to spotlight their tough but loving relationship.
