‘Holiday’ Celebration: Jimmy Fallon & Jonas Brothers Jingle to No. 1 on Adult Contemporary Chart

Jimmy Fallon and Jonas Brothers’ Yuletide team-up “Holiday” ascends to the top of Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart (dated Dec. 21).

Fallon earns his first Adult Contemporary No. 1 – and his first ruler on a Billboard radio airplay chart – with his second top 10 on the tally, after “Wrap Me Up,” with Meghan Trainor, hit No. 2 last holiday season.

Jonas Brothers score their third Adult Contemporary leader, among five top 10s. “Sucker” dominated for 17 weeks in 2019-20 — with its run interrupted by their first holiday No. 1, “Like It’s Christmas,” which ruled for three weeks in December 2019.

“Holiday” parent set Holiday Seasoning by Fallon (on St. James Place/Republic) added a fourth week at No. 1 on the Comedy Albums ranking dated Dec. 14. The star of NBC’s The Tonight Show previously topped the survey with Blow Your Pants Off for three weeks in 2012. His chart-topping résumé also includes two tracks on the (since-shuttered) Comedy Digital Song Sales chart: “Ew!,” featuring will.i.am. (seven weeks, 2014-15) and “History of Rap,” featuring Justin Timberlake (one week, 2012).

Meanwhile, “Holiday” is the 30th holiday No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart since the start of the 2000s, around the time that most stations in the format began playing seasonal songs heavily, or 24/7, between Thanksgiving and Christmas each year.

Here’s an updated recap of all the holiday songs that have dashed to No. 1 on Adult Contemporary.
