Georgia on Your Mind: Local Tech CEO Answers Why You Should Attend ChannelCon 2024 in Atlanta

Local Tech CEO Answers Why You Should Attend ChannelCon 2024 in AtlantaAs the president and CEO of Atlanta-based Transformation Lead and a former CompTIA board member, Dr. Georgette Fraser-Moore is quite familiar with the CompTIA Community and the tech landscape in Atlanta. The fact that they’re converging this summer for ChannelCon 2024 in Atlanta? It’s the best of both worlds, she said.

We asked Fraser-Moore why tech business leaders and professionals should attend ChannelCon in Atlanta and what they should expect when they get there. Here’s what she had to say.

Why is Atlanta a good fit to host ChannelCon 2024?

I’m excited about it! Atlanta has so much to offer. Metro Atlanta has a huge technology ecosystem. Most of the major technology companies have a major presence in Atlanta and there’s a lot of connectivity here. Atlanta has also been recognized as a great place to start a small business, and small business owners often rely on MSPs to help them grow their businesses.

We have a large MSP community in the Atlanta area, so this is a great opportunity for all different types of technology professionals to come out and learn first-hand about all the great things that the CompTIA Community has to offer its membership and the channel. We can all learn from each other.

Why do you attend ChannelCon year after year?

I tell people to attend ChannelCon because of the “everything” that’s there. By that I mean all of the incredible opportunities for connections and camaraderie for technology professionals to grow their businesses and keep pace with what is happening now. As one of the largest, oldest trade associations out there specifically around the technology channel, the CompTIA Community is a global leader for technologists and for the channel.

I’ve been in technology for a very, very long time, and I learn something new every year. I’ll walk around the Technology Vendor Fair or hear something in a session and say “wow, that exists?” I’m finding out new things all the time from the people that are creating products and solutions in real time and come to ChannelCon to share them.

Why should MSPs and anyone working in the IT channel attend ChannelCon2024?

Whether someone is a new MSP or a seasoned MSP, there are opportunities to connect with and learn from people that are in the exact same place, doing the exact same thing. There is also the opportunity to be able to build larger partnerships, grow a business or develop initiatives.

Any technologist can expect to learn an extraordinary amount in a short period of time. For someone younger or just starting out in their tech career, they are going to be exposed to so much and learn so much more as part of a community than being on their own. They may even find their next job or opportunity just walking through the hallways!

How does ChannelCon help attendees keep pace with emerging technology?

CompTIA is a leader in the research and development around the latest in technology and key trends such as cybersecurity, AI and workforce development. That exclusive knowledge is the basis for much of the real-life content presented.

The CompTIA Community has industry advisory councils that are thought leaders in the major areas that are happening in tech, such as AI, blockchain, channel development, IoT, data analytics, SaaS solutions and workforce trends. These experts bring together content that is beneficial from their personal, community and business knowledge.

If you’re a technology professional attending sessions at ChannelCon, you may already have an area of expertise—and you might even be able to go deep into the weeds—but you’re going to be able to take your knowledge to the next level by talking to people who are the experts in the practice. You are going to be able to dissect issues in a way you can’t get by reading an article or learning on your own.  The sessions become a game-changer for people who want to be leaders.

How would you describe the atmosphere at ChannelCon?

When you go to ChannelCon, you make genuine connections, both on a personal and a business level. You’re talking tech and you’re learning but it is a fun, supportive environment. It is not one of those stuffy, everybody-is-in-their-suit kind of things. Also, ChannelCon is a vendor-neutral event, so attendees ‘leave their badge at the door’ in order to come together to help each other and the industry.

I remind people to enjoy the evening events after a day of workshops, sessions and talking to vendors. There are fun events and an awards ceremony to celebrate people who had major accomplishments and made a difference in tech throughout the year.

What do you want ChannelCon attendees to know about metro Atlanta?

Welcome! Atlanta is amazing, and as home to one of the world’s busiest airports, most people will be able to find a direct flight here. Once they do, they’ll discover that Atlanta is a great place. There’s always something to do and much of it is centrally located. You can check out all of the great attractions—we have everything from hiking trails and mountains to the symphony and art museums to sporting event to the World of Coca Cola and the Georgia Aquarium.

Will We See You in Atlanta?
